Kingman & Heritage Islands Virtual Charrette on Education and Ecology

The DC Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) invites you to participate in a virtual charrette for the Kingman & Heritage Islands Trails and Amenities Design Project.

DOEE and the design team will share what we’ve learned through years of community engagement and provide an update on where the project stands today. This virtual session will focus on Education and Ecology, highlighting the islands' natural resources, environmental stewardship, and opportunities to strengthen educational experiences through future planning.

This charrette is part of the Pre-Design Phase of a two-year design period. Although this phase is primarily focused on sharing project background and existing community input, participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions and help inform the next steps in the planning process.

What You'll Learn

  • Project background and goals

  • Previous community feedback

  • Education and Ecology opportunities

  • Current planning efforts

  • Next steps in the project

Accessibility accommodations are available upon request. Please indicate your needs in the registration form or contact destinee.mitchell@dc.gov.

This meeting will be recorded and meeting materials will be posted on the project webpage following the meeting.

This meeting is one of six opportunities in the Pre-Design Phase. Register for additional sessions here.
