Due to forecasted storms, we have shifted July’s FrogWatch session (originally scheduled for Tuesday, July 21st) to our rain date of Thursday, July 23rd. Join DOEE, Living Classrooms, and your neighbors for FrogWatch, a community science program.

Through FrogWatch volunteers collect and submit data on calling frogs and toads in ponds and wetlands around Kingman + Heritage Islands throughout the spring and summer. FrogWatch monitoring sessions include over a mile of walking on the islands at night. FrogWatch is recommended for high schoolers with a chaperone and adults, as the program requires participants to stay completely quiet for multiple 5-minute increments during the monitoring walk. As frog call activity wanes later in the season, we may also listen for other nocturnal animals, so bring your curiosity!
