Join Anacostia Watershed Society for a Mussel Bottom Cage Workday at Kingman and Heritage Islands!

On this workday we will focus on bottom cage maintenance, which could involve cleaning accumulated mud out of the mussel cages and making cage repairs. The freshwater mussels will spend time in these cages as we monitor their growth over a span of time.

Physical Level of Difficulty: Moderate to Difficult – This event will involve lifting, bending, and walking in mucky mud. Participants will be expected to wear waders for the duration of the event. If you think any of the physical requirements will be problematic, please let us know.
